Susan B. Anthony believed in a future that wasn't guaranteed to her. As co-founder of the National Woman Suffrage Association and one of the most recognized figures in American history, she dedicated her life to proving that women deserved the same rights as men, including the right to vote. In 1872, she voted anyway and was arrested for it. The 19th Amendment passed 14 years after her death. She knew it was coming.
